He was appointed as a Midshipman (O) (Supplementary List) RAN. (He served with the RCN 01/11/1966). He served in HMCS Shearwater for VS-880 Squadron 1966. (He was returned to the RAN for service). He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant (O) RAN. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (O) RAN. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (O) RAN (With seniority dated 01/02/1968). He served in HMAS Albatross 1968. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (SL) (RAN) (With seniority dated 30/12/1969). He served in HMAS Albatross 1971. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander (O) RAN. (He was released.)
