He was appointed as a Naval Cadet RN (With seniority dated 15/07/1880). He was appointed as a Midshipman RN (With seniority dated 14/12/1882) serving in H.M.S. Agincourt during the Egyptian War. He was present at the action at Suakin while serving in H.M.S. Racer. He landed and deployed a 64 pound gun of H.M.S. Starling into the trenches in 1888. He was employed as the Naval Transport Officer in charge of guns at Gemaizah. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RN (With seniority dated 14/12/1886). He served in H.M.S. Racer in 1888 and in H.M.S. Starling in 1888. He was appointed as a Lieutenant RN on 30/06/1890. He was appointed as a Commander RN (With seniority dated 30/06/1903). He served in HMS Shearwater (In command) 1906. He was the Commander-in-Charge for Station Duties on the West Coast of North America (Pendant carried in H.M.S. Shearwater) in 1906. (He was released.) |
