He was a homesteader at the time of his recruitment into the navy.

 

Military Service
He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman RNCVR. He was appointed as an Able-Seaman RNCVR. He served in HMCS Niobe (RCN depot ship) 1916. (He died of illness June 08, 1916.)
