He was qualified as a medical doctor.

 

Military Service
He was appointed as a Mate RNCVR (With seniority dated 26/05/1917). In 1917 he served in HMCS Stadacona (Auxiliary Patrol Ship). (Transferred to RCNVR), (Mobilized for World War Two service). He was appointed as a Surgeon Lieutenant-Commander (Temp.) RCNVR. He was appointed as a Surgeon Commander (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 01/07/1943). (Appointment Terminated 05/07/1945.)
