Biography
During the depression he rode the rails across Canada and worked his passage to England to join the Royal Navy. After his naval service he joined the Canadian Hydrographic Service serving in CSS W.J. Stewarrt, Vector and Parizeau. He retired again in 1981.

He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman RN. He served in H.M.S. Greyhound (sunk off Crete). He served in H.M.S. Nelson. (CFR). He was appointed as a Commissioned Officer RN. (Transferred to RCN 1945). He was appointed as a A/Boatswain RCN (With seniority dated 04/01/1945). He served in HMCS Comox. He served in HMCS Naden. He served in HMCS Cornwallis. He was appointed as a Commissioned Boatswain RCN (With seniority dated 04/01/1945). He served in HMCS Crescent. He served in HMCS Cornwallis. He served in HMC ML-124 (In command) 1948. He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 03/02/1949). He served in HMCS Haida (For Korean War Service). He served in HMCS Sault Ste. Marie (In command) 1953. He served in HMCS Malahat as Commanding Officer. He served in NHQ on Staff of Director of Naval Intelligence as Staff Officer (Merchant Ships Intelligence) 1956. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander RCN (With seniority dated 03/02/1957). He served in HMCS Naden as Staff Officer Intelligence on Staff of Flag Officer Pacific Coast 1960. He served in NHQ in Naval Intelligence. (He retired in 1967.)
