Military Service

He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 15/12/1939). (Mobilized for World War Two service 04/01/1940). He served in HMCS Stone Frigate (First Course) for Training 1940. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 15/12/1941) (Later backdated to 15/06/1939). He served in HMCS Kootenay (I). He was appointed as an A/Lieutenant-Commander (Temp.) RCNVR 1944. He served in HMCS Prestonian (In command) 1944. He served in HMCS Qu'Appelle (I) (In command) 1945. (He was demobilized.) (He was qualified with a Watchkeeping Certificate.) (He was qualified for gunnery duties.)
