He was a Wireless Telegraph Operator at the time of his recruitment into the navy.

 

Military Service
He was appointed as a Second Class Wireless Telegraph Operator RNCVR (With seniority dated 01/11/1917). In 1917-1918 he served in HMCS Shearwater as Wireless Telegraph Operator. (He was demobilized. (He was mobilized for Second World War Service) He was appointed as an Electrical Lieutenant-Commander (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 11/03/1941). (He was demobilized.)
