After his naval service he was Executive Director of the Navy League of Canada.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman (Officer Candidate UNTD) (U of S) RCN(R) 1946. He served in HMCS Unicorn for UNTD 1946-1947. (CFR) (Transferred to RCN) He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 10/1950). He served with the RN for Training. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 09/1952). He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 01/11/1952). He served in HMCS Iroquois (Korean War service). He served in HMCS Cornwallis for Leadership Course. He served in HMCS Nootka as Navigating Officer. He served in HMS Dryad for Long Navigation Course 1956. He served in HMCS Fortune as Squadron Navigating and Communications Officer. He served in HMCS Terra Nova as Navigating Officer. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander RCN (With seniority dated 11/1960). He served in HMCS Quinte (In command) 1961-1963. He served in HMCS Stadacona 1963. He served in RCAF Staff College 1965. He served in HMCS Gatineau as Executive Officer 1966. He served in CFHQ on Personnel Staff 1968. He was appointed as a Commander (MARS) (With seniority dated 01/12/1969). He served in HMCS Mackenzie (In command) 1971. He served as Commanding Officer Sea Training Unit. He served in NDHQ as DPCO2 1964. He served in NDHQ as Section Head DMOPR 1977. He was appointed as a Captain (MARS) (With seniority dated 01/01/1978). He served in NDHQ as DMOPR. He served on SACLANT Staff 1979. He retired 1984. He was a Convoy Commodore after retirement 1986.
