He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman (Officer Candidate UNTD) RCN(R) 1947. In 1947 he served in HMCS Prevost for UNTD. He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1948. In 1948-1950 he served in HMCS Prevost for UNTD. He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant (S) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 23/01/1950). He was appointed as a Lieutenant (S) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 23/02/1952). (He was released.)

The Law Foundation of Saskatchewan Chair at the University of Saskatchewan College of Law will now be known as the Law Foundation of Saskatchewan H. Robert Arscott Chair after the university’s Board of Governors approved the name change on March 18, 2014. The newly named chair honours H. Robert Arscott, F.C.A., who served as secretary of the Law Foundation of Saskatchewan (LFS) from 1973 until his retirement in 2013. Robert Arscott is the founder of H. Robert Arscott Chartered Accountant in 1962 and through various mergers over the last 50 years is now known as Virtus Group, LLP.
