He was appointed as a Probationary Flight Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RNAS (With seniority dated 1915). On 20/12/1915 he made a passage from Canada. He was appointed as a Flight Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RNAS (With seniority dated 1916). He served in RNAS Chingford for Training 17/01/1916. He was attached to No.5 Wing at RNAS Dover-Dunkirk for allocation in 29/05/1916. On 12/06/1916 he was based at RNAS Calshot. He served in RNAS Killingholme 03/07/1916. On 31/08/1917 he was in a bombing raid on Paradisos Aerodrome in the Middle East and unable to locate his objective he dropped four bombs on Rice's works in Smyrna Turkey. |
