Biography
He graduated from Western University with Honours in Business in 1951. After retiring from the navy, David served as the Administrator for the Ontario Court System in Toronto, where he enjoyed the opportunity to work with the provincial Superior Court Justices.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 06/12/1948). He served in HMCS Prevost for UNTD 1948-1951. (Short Service Appointment). He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant (SSA) RCN. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (SSA) RCN. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 06/02/1953). He served in HMCS Sussexvale 1955. (Selected for permanent commission). He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander RCN (With seniority dated 06/02/1961). He served as Staff Officer on Staff of Flag Officer Pacific Coast 1964. He was appointed as a Commander (MARS) (With seniority dated 01/07/1966). He served in HMCS Saguenay (II) (In command) 1966. He served in HMCS Nipigon (II) (In command) 1972-1974. (He was released.)

was the naval aide-de-camp to Governor-General Vanier in Ottawa, and later to Lieutenant-Governor George Pearkes in British Columbia.
