Military Service
He was appointed as an Officer Cadet (CF) 1975. He served in the Royal Military College of Canada for Training. He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant (MARS). He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (MARS). He was appointed as a Lieutenant (MARS) (With seniority dated 01/06/1979). He served in the Ecole Militaire (Paris France) for Staff Course 1990. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander (MARS). He served in HMCS Ville de Quebec (francophone/mixed gender crew) as Executive Officer 1996. He served in MARCOM on Staff of Sea Training Unit. He was appointed as a Commander (MARS). He served in NDHQ on Staff of Chief of Maritime Staff as Current Operations Section Head. He served in HMCS Fredericton (II) (In command) 03 May 1999 - 15 July 2001 (two Standing Naval Force Atlantic (SNFL) deployments and several major NATO exercises.) He served in NDHQ as Director Maritime Policy, Operations and Readiness for the Chief of the Maritime Staff 2001. He attended the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University undertaking a Masters program in International Affairs and Security-related topics 2003.
