Biography
After his naval service he studied mechanical engineering at the University of Toronto. He joined several Toronto engineering and contracting firms.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (A) (Temp.) RNVR (With seniority dated 16/10/1942). He served in H.M.S. St. Vincent for #35 Pilot Training Course 1942. He served in USNAS Grosse Ile for Training. He served in USNAS Pensacola for Training. He served in USNAS Quonset Point for 1833 RN Squadron 1943. He served in USNAS Brunswick ME for 1833 RN Squadron 1943. He served in USNAS Floyd Bennett Field for 1833 RN Squadron 1943. He served in H.M.S. Trumpeter for 1833 RN Squadron 1943. He served in RNAS Stretton for 1833 RN Squadron 1943. He served in RNAS Machrihanish for 1833 RN Squadron 1943. He served in H.M.S. Ravager for Deck Landing Training 1943. He served in H.M.S. Illustrious for 1833 RN Squadron (Corsair) 1943, He participated in air strikes against Japanese targets in the Bay of Bengal and the Dutch East Indies. (Transferred to RCNVR). He was appointed as a Lieutenant (P) (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 01/01/1944). In 1944 he serevd with the Royal Navy. (He was demobilized.) (He survived a 14,000 feet altitude collision on 9 May 1944, landing with the starboard wheel broken and hit the pom-pom while returning from a Soerabaya air strike on 17 May 1944."
