Biography
His family moved from Manitoba and settled in Saanich BC. He may have been living in Saanich at the time of his recruitment.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as a Naval Cadet RN 1930. He served in RN Naval College Dartmouth 1930. He was appointed as a Midshipman RN in 1934. He served in HMS Kent for Sea Training (China Station) 1934. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (A) RN. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (A) RN. He served in H.M.S. Furious and H.M.S. Victorious for 812 RN Squadron 1939. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander (A) RN. He served in RNAS Arbroath for 867 RN Squadron as Commanding Officer 1942. He served in H.M.S. Furious for 827 RN Squadron 1943. He served in H.M.S. Furious and H.M.S. Victorious for 8BTR as Wing Leader 1943. He served in H.M.S. Formidable for 8 TBR as Wing Leader 1944.

Anecdotes
He was involved in Operation Mascot for operations against the battleship Tirpitz 17/07/1944 in a Norwegian Fjord. He led the low level dive-bombing attack. He was missing (believed killed) in action 18/07/1944.
