He started work in the coal mines at Lantzville BC c1920. In 02/01/1924 he worked on the tug Brunette (Cliff Towing Co.) as a deckhand and coal passer. He served in the Belle (Hastings Mill). He served in the Faultless (Pacific Coyle). He served in the Farquhar as deckhand and then as Mate. He served in the Coyle No. 1 as Master 1931. He served in the B.C. Boy as Master. He served in the Glenboro (diesel) as Master. He served in the Newington as Master. He served in the Le Roi as Master. He served in the Norshore as Master. He was qualified as a British Columbia Coast Pilot in 1955. (He was retired in 1971.) |
