He was appointed as an A/Ordnance Lieutenant RCN(R) (With Seniority dated 13/06/1956). He served in HMCS York 1956. He served in HMCS Patriot as Assistant Command Technical Ordnance Officer 1956. (Transferred to RCN 01/10/1957). He was appointed as an A/Ordnance Sub-Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 08/08/1957). He served in the RN Engineering College Manadon For Ordnance Engineering Training 1957. He was appointed as an Ordnance Sub-Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 08/08/1957).
