Biography
After his naval service he was an Assistant Professor Faculty of Law UBC 1950-1952. He was a Solicitor at Imperial Oil Ltd. Toronto and Calgary 1952-56. He held positions 1955-62 with Pacific Petroleums Ltd., Westcoast Transmission Co. Ltd. Afterwards he worked as a lawyer, author and broadcaster. He was a partner in the Calgary lawfirm of Ballem, McDill, MacInnes & Eden 1962 to about 2000. He was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Laws degree from the University of Calgary 1993. He was the author of ten novels and a legal textbook. He was a well known TV personality in Calgary instantly recognizable as the "voice of the Calgary Stampede."
 
Military Service
He was appointed as a Naval Airman 2/c RNVR (With seniority dated 01/04/1944). He served in RNAS Lee-on-Solent for Training 1944. He served in H.M.S. St. Vincent for #70 Pilot Training Course 1944. He was appointed as an A/Leading Aircraftman RNVR. He served in H.M.S. Saker for Training 1945. He served in USNAS Bunker Hill for Primary Flight Training 1945. He served in USNAS Corpus Christi for Advanced Flight Training 1945. (He was demobilized 1945.)
