Biography
He held a degree in English and Political Science from Sir George William University, (now Concordia University), in Montreal, QC. He was also a graduate of the National Defense College of Canada’s International Securities Studies program. Prior to joining Gulfstream Aerospace, he was Vice-President, Corporate Communications, with Rolls-Royce, the aircraft engine manufacturer, in both the U.S. and Canada. Before joining Rolls-Royce, he worked for 29 years (including seven as President) with Berger & Associates, public relations division of Ogilvy & Mather Canada Advertising. He retired from Gulfstream Aerospace October 9, 2009.

(Short Service Appointment). He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (SSA) RCN 1961. He served in HMCS Venture (Officer Training Establishment) for Training 1961. (Transferred to RCN(R)). He was appointed as an Officer Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1963. He served in HMCS Donnacona for UNTD 1963. (Transferred to RCN). He was appointed as an Officer Cadet RCN 1963. He served in Royal Roads Military College 1963. He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 01/10/1965). He served in HMCS Donnacona 1965, He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R) (With seniority dated 01/10/1966). He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN(R) (10/10/1968) He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander (NR) 01/01/1975. He served in HMCS Carleton 1975. He was appointed as an Honoray Aide-de-Camp to Governor General. He was appointed as a Commander (NR) 01/01/1979. He served in HMCS York as Executive Officer 1979. He served in HMCS York as Commanding Officer 1981-1985, He was appointed as a Captain (NR) 01/01/1983. He served in HMCS Carleton as Commanding Officer. He served in HMCS York as Commanding Officer 1995. He served as Senior Staff Officer (Navy) to Chief of Reserves 1986. He served in Maritime Coastal Defence (Seaway) as Commanding Officer 1988. He was appointed as a Commodore (NR) (With seniority dated 01/07/1995). He served in NDHQ as Commander Naval Reserve and as Naval Reserve Advisor 1995. (Transferred to Supplementary Holding Reserve 21/11/1999.)
