He was living in Victoria BC at the time of his recruitment. He was the son of the late Canon Beanlands (Victoria BC). |
Military Service |

He joined the Hampshire Regiment 12/1914. He was appointed as a Second Lieutenant RFC (With seniority dated 23/12/1914). He was awarded Royal Aero Club Certificate #2473 dated 20/02/1916. He transferred to the Royal Flying Corps in 1916. He served in #70 Squadron. He scored his first victory flying a Sopwith 1½ Strutter 06/09/1916. He was appointed as a Lieutenant RFC (With seniority dated 01/09/1916). He served in #70 Squadron. He served in #24 Squadron. Ihe served in #24 Squadron as a Flight Commander 1917. After scoring seven victories flying the D.H.5, his squadron was re-equipped with the S.E.5a. With this aircraft, Beanlands scored his final victory on 18/03/1918. He was wounded 04/1918. (He was killed in a flying accident at Northolt 08/05/1919.) |
