He was appointed as a Stoker Petty Officer (RNCVR). He served in HMCS Niobe (depot ship) 1917. (He was killed on 06/12/1917 while serving in a steam pinnace from HMCS Niobe to attempt to give aid to the burning vessel Mont Blanc which subsequently exploded killing the crew of the pinnace.) |
