Biography
He worked as an insurance agent between the wars. He was active in veteran's groups.
 
Military Service
He transferred to the Royal Flying Corps from the Gordon Highlanders (CEF). While serving as an observer with 7 Squadron in 1915, he was shot down in September and was wounded in action in December. When he recovered, he became a pilot and was posted to #60 Squadron in May 1916. That year, he was shot down for the second time on 21 October. On 9 November, he was wounded again when he was shot down for the third and final time. He was appointed Flying Officer, 15/05/1916). He was appointed as a Captain and Flight Commander RFC (With seniority dated 03/11/1916). He served in #66 Squadron 25/03/1917 - 23/08/1917. He served in the Home Establishment 23/08/1917. He was appointed as a Major and Squadron Commander RFC (With seniority dated 31/01/1918). He served in School of Special Flying. He served in RNAS Redcar 26/03/1918. He served in Leysdown 04/04/1918. He served in #3 Training Group 01/08/1918). (He relinquished commission 24/06/1919). He served in the RCAF Auxiliary.) He attended Coronation of 1937 as part of the RCAF contingent. He was appointed as a Squadron Leader RCAF (Auxilliary) 01/10/1932). He was appointed as a Wing Commander RCAF (Auxilliary) (With seniority dated 01/10/1937). He was appointed as a Group Captain RCAF (Auxilliary) (With seniority dated 15/06/1940). (He was demobilized 20/11/1945.)
