Biography |

He studied Fine Arts at the University of Toronto. He was already an accomplished photographer and painter in his teens, arriving in Toronto from the Banff School of Fine Arts. After two UNTD summers he graduated in the Spring of 1945 with a BA (Fine Arts). He went on to an MA (Fine Arts). |

He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman (Officer Candidate UNTD) RCNVR 1943. In 1943-1945 he served in HMCS York for UNTD. (He was demobilized 1945.) |
