He was appointed as a Probationary Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR 1943. He served in HMCS York 1943. He was appointed as Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 17//04/1944). He was appointed as an A/Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 17/04/1944). He was appointed as Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 17/04/1944). He served in HMCS Star. (He was demobilized.) He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN(R) (With seniority dated 17/04/1944). He served in HMCS Star as Training Officer (UNTD McMaster University) 1946. (Transferred to RCN). He was appointed as Lieutenant-Commander RCN (With seniority dated 07/04/1954). He served in HMCS Wallaceburg (In command) 1955). He served in NHQ for Duty With Director ROTP as Staff Officer ROTP 1958. He served in HMCS Fort Erie. He was appointed as a Commander RCN (With seniority dated 01/01/1962). He served in HMCS Huron (I) (In command) 1962. He served in HMCS Nootka (II) (In command) 1963. He served on Staff of SACLANT 1964. (He was retired in 1983.)
