He was appointed as an Officer Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1962. In 1962 he served in HMCS York for UNTD. He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R) (With seniority dated 15/09/1964). (Transferred to RCN). He was appointed as Sub-Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 01/05/1965). He was appointed as Lieutenant (N) (MARS). He was appointed as Lieutenant-Commander (MARS) (With seniority dated 01/01/1975). (He was released.)
