Biography
After his naval service he joined the British merchant navy as a Master for service in cargo vessels, tankers, and chemical carriers. Qualified as Master.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman RCNR. He served in HMCS York for Training. (Short Service Appointment 17/07/1953). He was appointed as Midshipman (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 17/07/1953). He served in HMCS Cornwallis for #6 Junior Air Officer Basic Training Course 1953. He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 24/07/1954). He served in HMCS Shearwater for Observer Training. He served in HMCS Niobe for RNAS Eglinton for Observer Training 1955. He was Awarded Observer Wings 06/05/1955. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (O) (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 24/07/1954). He served in HMCS Shearwater and HMCS Magnificent for VS-881 AEW Flight 1956. He was appointed as Lieutenant (O) (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 08/02/1957). He served in HMCS Shearwater and HMCS Magnificent for VS-880 Squadron 1957. He served in NHQ for Pilot Training at RCAF Station Centralia 1959. He served in NHQ for Pilot Training at RCAF Station Penhold 1959. He served in NHQ for Pilot Training at RCAF Station Saskatoon 1960. He was Awarded Pilot Wings 26/02/1960. He served in HMCS Shearwater and HMCS Bonaventure for VS-880 Squadron 1961. He served in HMCS La Hulloise for Watchkeeping. He served in HMCS Shearwater and HMCS Bonaventure for VU-32 Squadron 1964. He served in CFB Esquimalt for MARPAC HQ as Staff Officer 1969. He served in CFB Shearwater for VS-880 Squadron 1972. (He was retired 01/02/1977.)
