He was living in Windsor ON at the time of his naval recruitment. He played professional football for the Hamilton Tiger Cats. The Ottawa Roughriders retired his number (#40). The Bruno Bitkowski Memorial Trophy was awarded to the outstanding lineman in the CIS. The "Bruno Bitkowski Trophy" was awarded to the "Most Gentlemanly Male Athlete in the WSSA), from its inception in 1966 until it was retired in 1986. |
