He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RNCVR (With seniority dated 01/05/1918). (He was loaned from the Fisheries Protection Service to the RNCVR). He was appointed as a Lieutenant RNCVR (With seniority dated 10/07/1918). He served in HMCS Niobe as Additional 1918. (He was demobilized.)
