He was the son of Henry Westman Conroy Boak. He attended public school and then received his BA at McGill University and his medical degree at Queen’s University. He interned at Vancouver General Hospital. After his naval service he practiced medicine in Victoria BC. |

He was appointed as a Surgeon RNCVR (With seniority dated 04/09/1914 (later backdated to 05/08/1914)). In 1914 he served in HMCS Shearwater II. In 1917-1918 he served in HMCS Rainbow as Additional for HMC Dockyard Esquimalt. He was appointed as a Surgeon Lieutenant RNCVR (With seniority dated 05/08/1915). In 1918 he served in HMCS Rainbow for HMC Dockyard Esquimalt and RoyalNaval College of Canada. (He was demobilized.) |
