He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1953. He served in HMCS Nonsuch for UNTD 1953. He was appointed as an A/Surgeon Sub-Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 01/09/1958). He was appointed as a Surgeon Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 16/06/1962). (He was released.)
