He was appointed as an Officer Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1966. He served in HMCS Brunswicker for UNTD 1966-1968. He served in HMCS Cornwallis for Training 1967. He served in HMCS Malahat for Training 1968. He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R) 1968. After completion of the Long Communications Course in Halifax in 1969, he served aboard HMCS Provider for a year. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (NR). It was during this time that he completed his Upper Deck Watchkeeping certification. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (NR). After returning to HMCS Brunswicker in 1970 as Communcations Officer and in a number of other capacities, he returned to sea and served onboard HMCS Protecteur 1972-1973, serving with STANAVFORLANT for 6 months. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander (NR). He was appointed as a Commander (NR). In 1977 he moved to Toronto and joined HMCS York where he served in a number of capacities. He served in HMCS York as Commanding Officer in 1991-1995. In 1995, he joined the Canadian Forces Liaison Council serving as Liaison Officer for the Toronto area until he retired in 2002. He continues in his capacity as an Aide-de-Camp to the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario. |
