Biography |

He was living in Toronto ON at the time of his recruitment into the navy. He was awarded ACA Certificate 514 at the Curtiss Flying School, Newport News VA 28/06 1916. |
Military Service |

He went overseas with Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry early in the First World War but was invalided home with rheumatism in October 1915. (Transferred to RNAS) He was appointed as a Probationary Flight Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RNAS 1915 (With seniority dated 27/06/1916) in Ottawa ON. He sailed to the UK on the Sicilian 15 07/1916. In 1916 he served in RNAS Windermere for flying training. He served in RNAS Felixstowe 1917. He served in RNAS Cattewater 18/09/1917. (He was demobilized 22/03/1919). |
