He graduated from the Ontario Agricultural College (University of Guelph) in 1958. He taught highschool in Stayner and Collingwood

 

Military Service
He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1954. In 1954 he served in HMCS Star for UNTD. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (S) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 01/09/1957) (He was released.)
