He was a postmaster at the time of his recruitment into the navy.

 

Military Service
He was appointed as a Temporary Skipper RNCVR (With seniority dated 22/06/1917). In 1917 he served in HMCS Rainbow as Additional for Training and Disposal. He served in HMC T.R.-24 (In command) 1917. (He was demobilized.)
