He served in HMCS Niobe 1910. He served in H.M.S. Dreadnought 1911. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 14/01/1913). He served in H.M.S. Berwick (Mexican Revolution) 1914. He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 14/01/1915). He served in H.M.S. Dreadnought 1915. He served in H.M.S.
