He was appointed as a Petty Officer (Second Class RCN. He was appointed as a Petty Officer (First Class) RCN. He served in CFB Shearwater for VS-880 (Anti-Submarine) Squadron. (On April 19, 1971 he was killed in a Tracker crash at Sheet Harbour NS Canada during low level flying over water, the Tracker crashed into the sea off Sheet Harbour. )
