Biography

Before World War Two he worked with Massey Harris Co. Ltd., Lindsay Engineering & Bookmatch Manufacturers Ltd. And Canada Carbon & Ribbon Co. Ltd. After his Second World War service he worked with the Canada Carbon & Ribbon Co. Ltd. as a machinist and millwright. In 1947 he operated his own commercial machine shop. After the Second World War he was Treasurer - Manager of the Eastern Passage Credit Union Ltd. Then in 1976 he was the Bursar of the Dartmouth Academy. He was appointed as the Secretary-Treasurer and Newsletter Editor of the Shearwater Aviation Museum Foundation 1990-92.

He was appointed as a AC 2/c (Air Armourer) RCAF (With seniority dated 12/05/1939). He served in RCAF Camp Borden 1939. He served in RCAF Trenton for 8th Air Armament Course 1939. He served in RCAF Dartmouth in #5 BR Squadron 1940. He served in RCAF North Sydney for 117 (BR) Squadron 1942. (With seniority dated Sergeant (Fitter Armourer) RCAF 1942. He served in #425 (Alouette) RCAF Squadron 1942. He served in #432 (Leaside) RCAF Squadron 1943. He served in RAF Bomber Command as NCO-in-Charge of Armament Experimental Section 1945. He served in RCAF Scoudouc 1945. (He was demobilized 18/11/1945). (Transferred to RCAF Auxilliary 23/01/1947). He was appointed as a Sergeant Armourer RCAF(R) 1947. He served in #400 (F) Auxilliary Squadron 1947. (Transferred to RCN 18/11/1948). He was appointed as an Air Mechanic RCN (With seniority dated 18/11/1948).
