He moved with his family to Vancouver BC where he was living at the time of his enlistment. |
Military Service |

In 1927 he enlisted in the RCAF and was trained at Camp Borden ON as a fitter and rigger. In 1929 he was part of the aircrew on Vickers Vedettes at Jericho Beach (near Vancouver), B.C. flying fisheries and anti-smuggling patrols. He was appointed as a Sergent Pilot RCAF. In 1936 he was commissioned into the RCAF as a Flying Officer. He was Squadron Commander of No. 8 SFTS at Moncton NB. He was appointed as a Flight Lieutenant RCAF in 1941. In 1941 he was the Chief Instructor at No. 6 SFTS at RCAF Statio in Dunville ON. He was appointed as a Squadron Leader RCAF. In 1942 he was appointed to the RCAF Staff College. In 1943 he was promoted to Wing Commander RCAF. (He retired in 1959.) |
