During and since the Second World War he was a Commissionaire at the Dockyard in Halifax NS and at the UIC office in New Glasgow NS. He was a County Constable in Pictou County until about 1962. |

He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman RNCVR. He served in HMCS Niobe. (Transferred to RCN). He was appointed as a Chief Petty Officer RCN. (He was retired 1938). |
