Anecdotes
He wrote "I flunked out of Queen's University who told me that I could only get back in by doing extension courses and getting A's and B's. So I was out two years doing same (not associated with the naval reserve where I think I was classed an Acting Sub-Lieutenant, retired) and in the fall of 1966 I went back into second year Commerce (Comm 69). I went to see the forces and they told me that I would be much better to revert to an ROTP cadet rather than being an A/Slt in the naval reserve. So I enrolled in ROTP and in the summer of 1967 went off to Halifax as a 2nd year ROTP cadet (granted "time" for my UNTD experience), then Midshipman in the summer of 1968. Graduated May 1969 and was commisioned Sub-Lieutenant."
