He was appointed as a Probationary Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RNVR. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (A) (Temp.) RNVR (With seniority dated 06/11/1943). (Transferred to RCNVR (With seniority dated 01/01/1944), He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (P) (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 06/11/1943). He served in H.M.S. Khedive for 899 RN Squadron 1943.

Anecdotes
He was killed in action on 18/08/1944, during Operation Dragoon, his Seafire took part in low level attack in southern France, flew into hill at Fuveaux, near Aix-en-Provence.
