Biography
He was a quartermaster at the time of his recruitment into the navy.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as a Mate RNCVR (With seniority dated 25/04/1917). In 1917 he served in HMCS Acada as Mate. In 1918 he was on loan to the Royal Navy. He was appointed as a Skipper RNCVR (With seniority dated 17/07/1918). . He served in HMCS C.D.-38 (In command ) 1918. (He was demobilized.) (He was mobilized for Second World War service). He was apponted as an A/Skipper RCNR (With seniority dated 29/09/1939). In 1940 he served in HMCS Raccoon. He was appointed as a Skipper RCNR. In 1941 he served in HMCS Venture for Auxiliary Vessels Depot Staff. In 1941 he served in HMCS Adversus (in command). He was appointed as a Chief Skipper (Temp.) RCNR (With seniority dated 25/09/1942). In 1942 he served in HMCS Stadacona on staff of Officer Commanding Harbour Craft. In 1943 he served in HMCS Charny. He was appointed as a Skipper Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNR (With seniority dated 25/09/1943). In 1944 he served in HMCS Beaver. In 1944 he served in HMCS Laymore. (He was demobilized.) In 1952 he was appointed as Lieutenant (Star) RCN(R). He was appointed as Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R) 1959. In 1959 he served on the retired list at HMCS Scotian. (He was qualified with a Watchkeeping Certificate.)
