Biography
After his naval service he joined the Department of National Defence on the hydrographic service staff. He was the President of the Ottawa Branch of the Naval Officers Association of Canada 1982-1984. He was the National President of the Naval Officers Association of Canada 1991-93.

He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 21/03/1950). He served in HMCS Cabot for UNTD 1949-1951. He served in HMCS Ontario for Training 1951. He served in HMCS Antigonish for Sea Traini ng 1952. (He was released.) (Transferred to RCN). He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 19/09/1951). He served HMCS Cabot 1951. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 01/09/1953). He served in HMCS Ontario for Training 1953. He served with the Royal Navy for Sub-Lieutenants Courses 12/1953. He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 01/01/1955). He served in HMCS Magnificent 1955. He served in HMCS Fundy 1956. He served in HMCS Gatineau 1959. He served in HMCS Cataraqui as Staff Officer (Administration) 1960. He served in HMCS Kootenay 1962. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander RCN (With seniority dated 01/01/1963). He served in HMCS Patriot on Staff of Commanding Officer Naval Divisions. He served in NDHQ. (He was released 1976.)
