Biography
He grew up in Saint John, NB where he taught himself to accompany his singing on the guitar. While attending UNB (University Naval Training Division), Peter formed a folk group, the Henchmen, that performed any time they could including Don Messer's Jubilee. He was living in Lancaster NB at the time of his recruitment. He was the recipient of the Canadian Centennial Medal (1967). He moved to Victoria to work as a stockbroker at Pemberton Securities. In his spare time, he also performed with the Victoria Operatic Society in several musicals, before launching into a full-time singing career. Peter performed all over the world for 12 years. Near the end of that career, he had an opportunity to sing on a Variety Show of Hearts Telethon in the mid 80's and then became a regular entertainer and co-host of the event until 2018. In 2012 he was working with Peter Chipman Enterprises and the Princess Louisa International Society.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 1964). He served in HMCS Brunswicker 1964-1965. He served in HMCS Cornwallis for Training 1964-1965. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (RCN(R)). He was appointed as a Lieutenant (RCN(R)) 1968. He served in HMCS Malahat as Diving Officer. (He was released in 1977.) (He was qualified for Navigation and Diving duties and with a Watchkeeping Certificate.)
