Biography
He worked in the Chown family business. In the late 1960s he became a high school teacher until his retirement. After retiring as a teacher, he became the Federal Harbourmaster for Kingston and operated a business called Harbour & Marina Consulting Services.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman (RCNVR). (Transferred to Canadian Army). He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant, Princess of Wales Own Regiment in the Canadian Army. (Transferred to RCN(R) 1948). He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R) (With seniority dated 25/06/1949). He was appointed as an A/Lieutenant RCN(R). He was appointed as a Lieutenant (P) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 22/06/1953). He served in HMCS Cataraqui for VC-921 Reserve Squadron 1953. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander RCN(R) (With seniority dated 22/06/1961). He was appointed as a Commander (NR). He was appointed as a Captain (NR). He served in HMCS Cataraqui as Commanding Officer 1967-1970. He served in HMCS Cataraqui as Commanding Officer 1973-1975. (He was released 1984.)
