Military Service
He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman RCNVR. (CFR). He was appointed as a Gunner (Star) (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 15/09/1942). He served in H.M.S. Goshawk (Piarco Trinidad) for Observer Training. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (P) (Temp.) RCNVR 31/01/1943. He served in RNAS Anthorn. He was killed in a flying accident on 18/09/1945 when his aircraft stalled and lost control, spun in at Priestside Flow, Hurklesdale, near Cummertrees, Dumfriesshire. (He was an Executive Branch officer qualified as a pilot for naval aviation under AFO 5025/1941)
