He was a bank clerk in Toronto ON before his recruitment.

He was appointed as a Probationary Flight Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RNAS (With seniority dated 16/12/1915). He was appointed as a Flight Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RNAS 1916. He served in RNAS Dunkirk 1917. He was appointed as a Captain RAF. He was serving with 218 Squadron. Lieutenant (Honorary Captain) He served in HMS Conquest 30/03/1916. He was injured 25/04/1916. He served in RNAS Eastbourne 26/08/1916. He served in RNAS Dover 23/02/1917. He served in RNAS Dunkirk 04/04/1918. He served in #218 Squadron 13/05/1918.
