He was a seaman warder at the time of his recruitment into the navy.

 

Military Service
He was appointed as a Seaman Warder RNCVR. (CFR) He was appointed as an A/Mate RNCVR (With seniority dated 01/07/1915). He served in HMCS Stadacona (base ship) 1917. (He was killed in the Halifax Explosion 06/12/1917.)
