Military Service
He was appointed as a First Class Volunteer RN (With seniority dated 08/03/1842). He was sent to serve on the China Station. He served in H.M.S. Agincourt. He served in H.M.S. Cornwallis. He served in H.M.S. Firebrand. He was appointed as an A/Mate RN 1848 serving in H.M.S. Comus. He attended the Royal Naval College. He was appointed as a Lieutenant RN (With seniority dated 03/12/1848). He served in H.M.S. Dragon 1849. He served in H.M.S. Dauntless 1850. He served in H.M.S. Vulture 1854. He was appointed as a Commander RN (With seniority dated 29/09/1855). He served in H.M.S. Weser (In command) 1855. He served in H.M.S. Snake (In command) 1856. He served in H.M.S. Fury (In command) 1857. He was appointed as a Captain RN (With seniority dated 18/07/1859). He was appointed as a Commodore RN (With seniority dated 16/02/1861) serving in H.M.S.
