Military Service

He was appointed as a Able Seaman RCN(R). He served in HMCS Queen, (Short Service Appointment 01/02/1951). He was appointed as a Midshipman (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 01/02/1951). He served in HMCS Ontario for training 1951. He served in USNAS Pensacola for Flying Training 1951. He was Awarded Wings. He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant (P) (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 10/11/1952). He served in HMCS Stadacona for RCN Air Section HMCS Shearwater for VU-32 Squadron 1953. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (P) (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 10/11/1952), NAS Summerside for VS-880 Squadron 1953. He served in HMCS Shearwater and HMCS Magnificent for VS-881 Squadron and AEW Flight 1954. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (P) (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 23/10/1954). He served in NHQ For Special Duty With the Naval Assistant to the Commander Canadian Joint Air Training Centre Rivers Joint Air Photo Interpretation Section of Ground Training Wing 1956, (Selected for permanent commission). He served in CFB Shearwater for VS-880 Squadron as Executive Officer 1968. He served in MARCOM HQ as Air Staff Officer 1969. He served in CFB Shearwater as Air Operations officer 1972. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Colonel (PLT) (With seniority dated 01/01/1975). He served in CFB Shearwater for VU-32 Squadron as Commanding Officer 1975.
