He graduated with Honours from McGill University, Bachelor of Commerce Class of 1953. He worked as a a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse, The Montreal Star and ended his career contentedly with Tax Save Consultants.

He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 28/01/1950). He served in HMCS Donnacona for UNTD 1949-1951. He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R). He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R). He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN(R). (He was released.)
